Ear Gear is great, but it only works properly if you measure your hearing instrument first! Ear Gear Mini fits hearing aids 1 to 1.25 inches (2.5 to 3.2 cm). You will need to measure your hearing aid to make sure that Ear Gear Mini fits correctly.

What should I do if my Ear Gear sleeve becomes saturated with moisture?

The Ear Gear sleeve will continue to retain moisture until it becomes saturated. Once saturated, we recommend you change the sleeve similarly to how you would change your clothing. This ensures your hearing instruments are completely protected.

Can Ear Gear be placed in a Dry and Store?

Yes. However, before doing so, remove the sleeve from the hearing aid. You have the option to slide the Ear Gear sleeve onto the tubing or completely remove it. Please note: continuous use may break down the fibers & stitching over extended use.

Can Ear Gear be washed?

Yes. Ear Gear can be washed many times & still maintains its elasticity. We recommend hand washing Ear Gear in warm water & a mild detergent (no bleach). A drop of dish soap or a small amount zero or Woolite all work equally well. Rinse your Ear Gear under cold running water & allow it to drip dry. Ear Gear should not be put in the washing machine or dryer.

What Is Ear Gear made from?

The Ear Gear sleeve is composed of a nylon-spandex blend. The cord is made of rubber & polyester. The O ring is made of rubber & the clip is made from plastic

Can Ear Gear protect hearing instruments from sweat & moisture?

Ear Gear has a unique double wall of spandex that provides protection against sweat, rain & moisture of all kinds. The spandex actually absorbs moisture, preventing it from reaching the hearing instrument’s microphone port, battery door & sensitive interior circuitry. Be sure to remove your hearing instrument from the Ear Gear after use to allow it to dry for the next use.

Can Ear Gear protect hearing instruments from dirt, dust & wind noise?

Ear Gear’s double wall of spandex provides protection against dust, dirt & wind noise.

Can I use Ear Gear without removing my ear mold?

Yes. Reverse loading allows any hearing instrument to have Ear Gear installed on it without having to remove the earmold/earbud.

Step 1. Turn the Ear Gear sleeve with the wide opening upward and slide the hearing instrument into the sleeve. Step 2. Push the hearing instrument into the sleeve until completely covered.

How do I decide whether to order a Corded or Cordless model of Ear Gear?

In the case of infants or children, the Corded model is always recommended as protection against loss. For older children, teens, and adults many times the Cordless model is recommended as the main concern is sweat, moisture, and wind noise protection. However, if the teen or adult is involved in a strenuous physical activity where hearing instruments can fall off, a model of Ear Gear with cord and clip would be suggested.

Ear Gear Eyeglasses is a spandex sleeve with 1 or 2 “O-rings” sewn on the sleeve To install Ear Gear Eyeglasses, simply slide the arm of your glasses through the O-ring(s). Ear Gear will attach to your eyeglasses and provide security for your hearing instrument. It is a personal preference whether to use one or both O-rings. The o-ring on all of Ear Gear’s Corded models is designed to slide up against the head preventing hearing instruments with Ear Gear from ‘flopping’ off the wearer’s ears.
